He was born in about 1824 and had a wife named Rosa or Rosina. If you have seen anything like these names together or anything close please let me know. There were too many Joseph Haas names in the ship lists to even narrow to his immigration date.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10008119915572447047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8503524507039329317.post-49243373222223755612009-01-29T11:25:00.000-08:002009-01-29T11:25:00.000-08:00I wonder if you have any Haas folks in Medina Coun...I wonder if you have any Haas folks in Medina County, Texas (near San Antonio)? While I don't have any Haas families in my lines, the name is very familiar to me! I enjoy reading about Germans to Texas stories because I have a lot of that in my family :-)Andrea Christmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04708535087949160210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8503524507039329317.post-61253876254284679482009-01-27T21:44:00.000-08:002009-01-27T21:44:00.000-08:00There is another possibilty on the married name of...There is another possibilty on the married name of your Grandmother Haas - It was customary to take the name of the house and not necessarily the husband's name. In other words if a man married a woman who had property he would take her last name changing his. So some of the records can be very difficult to follow because of this.Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810829851962238025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8503524507039329317.post-4334123815578422162008-12-11T22:04:00.000-08:002008-12-11T22:04:00.000-08:00Becky, thanks, I hope the link is working now.
